What is VCI?
VCIs are designed to create an invisible barrier, keeping moisture at bay. VCI molecules attach themselves to metal surfaces to form an invisible, thin film only a few molecules thick. (See the diagram for an illustration of how volatile corrosion inhibitors work.)
How does VCI film work?
The corrosion inhibitors are extruded right into the polyethylene film, not superficially applied. As a result, the volatile and contact inhibitors provide long-term corrosion protection for the most intricate and hard-to-reach surfaces. The corrosion protection is clean, non-discernible, with no strong chemical odor.
VCI film is transparent for easy inspection and identification of parts. It will not affect the performance of the protected metal, and the parts are ready to use immediately after removal from the packaging without additional cleaning.
Feature
- Nitrite-free, hygienic, environmentally friendly, non-toxic
- The anti-rust effect is comprehensive and remarkable. It can prevent rust in all aspects of any irregular surface.
- The monomolecular protective layer formed after gasification of the rust inhibitor does not have any side effects on the metal in the package.
- Long anti-rust period(usually 2-5 years),can reach up to 10 years with special treatment.
- Suitable for rust prevention of black and other non-ferrous metals.
- Simple operation and does not require pretreatment of the protected metal surface, eliminating the need for oiling, degreasing, and cleaning. It saves time, improves work efficiency, and saves costs.
- Wide range of applications, from small parts to large whole machinery.
- High transparency, dynamic visualization of packaged items.
